After researching mainly on the web about remapping, I found myself looking into Revo Technik as the most recommended brand, with possibly the best reputation. The figures they claimed to achieve were impressive. Votex, being registered on Revo’s site as a dealership, and local to myself, seemed like the best choice. The fact I’d heard a recommendation off a friend also just made it that more convincing.
It was the right choice – Votex’s service, both returning calls, making sure I received the appropriate information and that I brought my car in at a time when they would have Revo’s technical support should they need it, was reassuring. Mike met me at a local pub where we swapped cars – Votex providing a suitable courtesy car (Vauxhall Corsa) for no charge. Suitably impressed I went to work and eagerly awaited the phone call, which came around four hours earlier than expected, and I promptly went to the same pub and picked up the Golf.
What a difference. The torque curve seems a thousand times better and will now power right up to 4k/rpm before it starts to fade, rather than the stock lump of power when the turbo hits (I drive a Golf GT TDI Sport 07) then nothing in the upper revs. The overall speed increase is well worth the £500.00 + VAT and I couldn’t be happier with the fast, efficient service from Votex Ltd.

I have been into Vw's for well over 20 years and as an engineer I expect the best!! After using many of the well known VW tuners and finding that the service they provided was a little under par. I began searching the web, whilst looking for a Local Revo ( I feel the best Map for your Veedub) Dealer. I found Votex, I wanted a remap for my car, ( and like the majority of us I wanted it straight away!) I gave them a call, a friendly voice greeted me and said they could fit me in the same day!(Nice). I drove down, and met the crew, nice family type feel to the place, clean tidy, functional and above all professional. Many of the larger companies have tiled floors, shinning show rooms and sales people all to eager to take your money, talking lots of £££££££'s! What I found was free professional advice and a true passion (Rare these Days!) to get things right, first time! AND THEY DO! Wow! Impressed! real breath of fresh air!
Since then I have had two 1.8T's all with Revo Remaps, from VOTEX! I am currently running a 1.8T with stage 2 software- Amazing!
In short - If you drive a Veedub (or any car for that matter) this place is a must, Check out their website, give them a call. You will be impressed and treated like a human! not just another 'wallet with legs'.

I first came across Votex nearly 3 years ago when looking to have my 150PD Anniversary remapped. I finally settled on REVO – due mainly to its reputation, dealer network and quality of product. I’ve had various VWs and Audis over the years and have previously found some of the “specialist” garages either too busy to care, too eager to sell you as much as possible (whether it’s of benefit or not) or both - a haven for ripping off those with their first car & credit card. So, I was all prepared to head down to REVO’s head office and bypass the “specialist”, when I started hearing good things about this place called Votex from the Seat forums.
I called them up and spoke to Mike. He was really friendly, knowledgeable and didn’t give me the ‘hard sell’ barrage of power figures and “what you really want is stage 92…we’ll put x, y & z blah!” I’d been getting elsewhere. What he did was ask me what I actually wanted from the car, which was refreshing.
I went down and we spoke about my car at length, he wanted to fully check everything on the car before applying the map (clutch, MAF… the usual suspects) so I left him to it, feeling confident it was safe in his hands. I returned to be simply given the keys and told “it goes well that one, give it a try and come back in a bit”
The car was fantastic, I went back very happy. What struck me more though was the way I had been treated, it seems a cliché to say it they're like a family but it is the only way I can think to describe them and when you walk in you're made to feel part of it. They were enthusiastic too, like people who loved cars first that made a living from it second. My girlfriend’s Golf was due a service a week or so after, so I thought I’d give them a shot and see if they’re consistent?
Over the years now they have provided the best possible service you could wish for. They maintained my Girlfriend’s car to an exceptional standard. Most notably not minding when it came in with a bust water pump on a really busy day and instead of turning me away, they did it in their spare time and around jobs to get it back on the road.
Likewise with my car, along with the regular maintenance, it has also evolved over time. Uprating the brakes, suspension, bushes, performance engine components and loads of other stuff, they’ve helped me make the best decisions along the way. They’ve been good enough to save me money by telling me when something is a waste of time and they’ve never been bothered about me calling in with obscure bits I’ve bought and asking them to figure out how they fit and work? I also know if something’s not quite right I can call in and ask their opinion safe in the knowledge that I’m not going to have my wallet emptied… no sucking of teeth and quoting £xxx before they’ll even look at it.
In summary they’re a very good example of how a business should treat a customer. I’ve never once walked out of there feeling like I haven’t been treated anything less than exceptionally and I have never paid a bill and thought it wasn’t value for money. I recommend them to everyone I know and will continue to do so.
Thanks to you all.
